Job Description
Restaurant Operations Management – The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports the overall management of the restaurant by ensuring smooth daily operations and consistent service delivery. This role focuses on maintaining efficiency, profitability, and service excellence while ensuring that all operational procedures align with Mandarin Oriental standards.
Team Supervision and Scheduling – This position is responsible for supervising restaurant staff, ensuring team members arrive and depart according to scheduled shifts. The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports effective workforce planning, resolves staffing challenges, and promotes a disciplined yet motivating work environment.
Service Standards and Product Knowledge – Ensuring the team maintains strong food and beverage knowledge is a key responsibility of this role. The Assistant Restaurant Manager ensures that service teams confidently communicate menu details, billing procedures, and upselling strategies to enhance the guest dining experience.
Dining Setup and Service Flow – The role oversees table arrangements, service station setup, and overall dining room readiness. Close coordination with supervisors ensures that the restaurant environment remains organized, safe, and welcoming throughout service periods.
Guest Satisfaction and VIP Experience – The Assistant Restaurant Manager plays an active role in managing guest experiences, particularly for VIP and repeat guests. This includes ensuring personalized service, handling special requests, and resolving guest concerns promptly in line with Mandarin Oriental service recovery standards.
Health Safety and Compliance – Strict adherence to food hygiene, health, and safety standards is essential in this role. The Assistant Restaurant Manager ensures compliance with FLHSS, HACCP, and fire safety procedures while maintaining grooming, hygiene, and equipment standards across the outlet.
