Position Overview

ASCO Consultancy Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Director to oversee the construction and commissioning of a large Water Treatment Plant (WTP) project. This project is part of a Design, Build, and Operate (DBO) contract and is scheduled for completion within 48 months. The Project Director will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) - Water and will be responsible for ensuring the project is executed within defined timelines, cost targets, quality standards, and safety parameters. This is a site-based role with a six-day working schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management:

Lead the entire construction and commissioning process of the WTP project.

Manage and coordinate all project activities including planning, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning.

Oversee project budget and monitor expenses to ensure cost control.

Develop and maintain effective relationships with government agencies, clients, contractors, project management consultants (PMCs), and design partners.

Compliance & Standards:

Ensure adherence to project timelines, cost targets, quality standards, and safety parameters.

Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, standards, and codes throughout the project lifecycle.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Liaise with stakeholders to address concerns, resolve issues, and maintain positive working relationships.

Provide technical guidance and support to the project team, subcontractors, and stakeholders.

Risk & Issue Management:

Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and develop mitigation strategies.

Conduct regular project meetings, prepare progress reports, and communicate project status updates to senior management and stakeholders.

Contract Administration:

Ensure effective contract administration including reviewing and negotiating contracts, change orders, and claims.

Evaluate project performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective measures.

Team Leadership:

Manage a team of two Project Managers, providing leadership, guidance, and support.

Foster a culture of safety and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 23 years, including at least 4-5 completed WTP/WWTP projects with a capacity of +200 MLD. Must have a strong background in large WTP project construction and project management.

Qualifications: B.Tech in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering.

Skills:

Strong commercial acumen and experience in contract administration.

Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities effectively.

Nationality: Indian Only.
