Role Overview The Trade Finance Specialist will manage all trade finance activities related to letters of credit and letters of guarantee within construction and contracting operations. This role requires a detail-oriented finance professional who can handle complex banking instruments while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely execution across multiple projects.
Trade Finance Operations The position involves end-to-end processing of trade finance instruments including issuance, amendment, utilization, and closure of letters of credit and guarantees. The Trade Finance Specialist will ensure all transactions align with contractual requirements, internal approvals, and banking standards.
Bank Coordination The role requires close coordination with local and international banks to manage documentation, confirmations, negotiations, and settlements. Strong relationship management skills are essential to ensure smooth communication, timely resolution of issues, and effective handling of trade finance facilities.
Compliance and Governance The Trade Finance Specialist will ensure strict compliance with international trade finance rules and guidelines such as UCP, URDG, and ISP standards. This includes reviewing documents, minimizing discrepancies, and maintaining strong governance over all trade-related financial instruments.
Treasury Alignment The position supports treasury functions by aligning trade finance activities with cash flow planning, credit facilities, and risk management strategies. The specialist will contribute to optimizing working capital while ensuring sufficient coverage for ongoing construction projects.
Reporting and Controls The role involves preparing regular trade finance reports, tracking exposures, monitoring expiry dates, and supporting internal and external audits. Strong analytical skills are required to provide management with accurate insights and maintain effective financial controls.
