Job Summary:

KEO International Consultants is seeking a talented Senior Roads Engineer to join our award-winning team in Lisbon, Portugal. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in preparing a wide range of highway engineering schemes and will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing highways design advice and solutions for large-scale developments.

Key Responsibilities:

Highway Design and Development:

Prepare highway designs in accordance with relevant local standards.

Conduct feasibility studies and optioneering designs.

Develop and prepare design drawings, technical reports, and material specifications.

Resolve design problems using both manual and computer methods with minimal supervision.

Quality Control and Compliance:

Maintain quality control standards in all personal work outputs.

Check computations, designs, drawings, and estimates for technical accuracy and adherence to engineering principles and standards.

Assist in obtaining design approvals from authorities and agencies.

Project Management and Communication:

Manage activities within own field of responsibility and ensure effective work processes and systems.

Communicate effectively at all levels to support collaborative work practices and achieve team goals.

Prepare transportation design programs based on detailed work breakdown structures.

Team Contribution and Development:

Contribute to the effective functioning of the team by identifying with and participating in team objectives.

Provide feedback and day-to-day coaching to junior staff.

Manage personal continuous development and support the development of colleagues.

Cost and Technical Proposals:

Prepare cost estimates for infrastructure design projects.

Develop technical proposals for various developments.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Transportation or Civil Engineering.

At least 5 years of experience in a consultancy environment.

Membership in a transportation professional institution and working towards professional accreditation (IEng, CEng, or P.E.) is preferred.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Civil 3D.

Familiarity with Navisworks and Infraworks is advantageous.

Demonstrated experience in preparing a wide range of highways engineering schemes.

Additional Skills:

Excellent report writing and communication skills.

Ability to innovate and solve a wide range of transportation problems.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
