This short-term contract opportunity seeks a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor (P2A) to contribute to a critical project phase. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of quantity surveying principles, coupled with extensive practical experience in project cost management and control. This role demands a seasoned professional capable of accurately measuring, valuing, and managing construction costs, ensuring projects remain within budget and are completed efficiently. The successful candidate will be expected to operate independently and provide expert guidance on all quantity surveying matters.
The primary responsibility of the Senior Quantity Surveyor will be to accurately assess and quantify project requirements, preparing detailed cost estimates and budgets. This will involve meticulous analysis of construction drawings, specifications, and other project documentation. The role requires a deep understanding of contract administration, including the preparation and evaluation of variations, claims, and final accounts. The candidate must be proficient in utilizing industry-standard software and tools for cost estimation and measurement, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
Furthermore, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will be tasked with providing expert advice on cost-related matters to project stakeholders, including engineers, contractors, and clients. This includes monitoring project expenditures, identifying potential cost overruns, and implementing corrective actions. The candidate must be adept at conducting site measurements and inspections, ensuring accurate quantification of materials and labor. Strong negotiation skills are essential for managing subcontractor and supplier agreements, ensuring favorable terms for the project.

The requirements for this position include a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, coupled with a minimum of 15 years of relevant industry experience. A proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects is essential. Candidates must possess a valid UPDA Engineer certification and a valid Qatar ID (QID). An employment certificate from the previous company will also be required to verify professional experience.
