Position Overview

Khatib & Alami is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in hospitality and resort projects. The successful candidate will have at least 12 years of experience, including a minimum of 5 years in reviewing and approving shop drawings, method statements, inspection and test plans, and other site documents. Experience working in consultancy firms, especially in a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) role, is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Project Oversight:

Review and approve shop drawings, method statements, inspection and test plans, and all site documents in accordance with approved design packages.

Ensure that all mechanical systems are installed and maintained according to design specifications and quality standards.

Design and Documentation:

Assess and verify the mechanical design packages and specifications for hospitality and resort projects.

Approve technical documentation and ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.

Coordination and Communication:

Collaborate with project teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.

Provide technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.

Quality Assurance:

Conduct site inspections to ensure the quality of mechanical installations and adherence to design standards.

Address and resolve any technical issues or discrepancies that arise during construction.

Compliance and Standards:

Ensure that all mechanical works comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.

Implement and monitor adherence to safety and quality control procedures.

Requirements

Experience:

Minimum of 12 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years of experience in hospitality and resort projects.

Proven experience in reviewing and approving mechanical shop drawings, method statements, inspection and test plans, and site documents.

Skills:

Expertise in mechanical system design, installation, and maintenance for hospitality and resort projects.

Strong understanding of industry standards and codes.

Qualifications:

Relevant degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Experience working in consultancy firms; experience in a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) role is preferred.
