Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Kuwait. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical design for oil and gas projects, with a focus on feed and detailed engineering phases.

Key Responsibilities

Lead electrical design activities for oil and gas projects from concept through detailed engineering

Develop and review electrical single line diagrams, layout drawings, and circuit diagrams

Perform electrical load analysis, short circuit calculations, and relay coordination studies

Design power distribution systems, lighting systems, and grounding protection schemes

Prepare technical specifications for electrical equipment procurement

Review vendor documents and provide technical clarifications

Conduct electrical system studies using industry-standard software

Ensure compliance with international standards (IEC, IEEE, API) and local regulations

Supervise and mentor junior electrical engineers

Interface with clients, contractors, and other engineering disciplines

Perform site surveys and field investigations when required

Prepare technical bid evaluations and support procurement activities

Develop engineering deliverables within scheduled timeframes

Participate in HAZOP/HAZID studies and risk assessments

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university

Minimum 12 years of experience in electrical design engineering

Extensive experience in oil and gas projects, particularly in Kuwait

Strong knowledge of international electrical codes and standards

Proficiency in electrical design software and automation tools

Experience with power system analysis software (ETAP, SKM, or similar)

Knowledge of area classification and hazardous area requirements

Familiarity with Kuwait electrical standards and regulations

Protection system design and coordination

Lighting system design

Cable sizing and routing

Emergency power systems

UPS and battery systems

Motor control centers

Switchgear and transformers

Earthing and lightning protection

Preferred Qualifications

Professional Engineering license

Previous experience working in Kuwait

Knowledge of Arabic language

Experience with Bilfinger standards and procedures

Familiarity with local authority requirements
