Role Overview – Axiom Technologies is hiring a Senior Desktop Support Engineer for our Dubai office. This position requires 5+ years of experience and immediate joiners are preferred. This role is ideal for experienced IT support professionals who can provide advanced desktop support, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and support end-users effectively.
Desktop and Laptop Support – You will provide advanced desktop and laptop support including hardware troubleshooting, software installation and configuration, operating system support (Windows 10/11, macOS), resolving performance issues, diagnosing hardware failures, coordinating repairs and replacements, and ensuring end-user devices operate reliably and efficiently.
Technical Troubleshooting and Resolution – You will diagnose and resolve complex technical issues including system crashes, boot failures, network connectivity problems, application errors, printer issues, peripheral device problems, and performance degradation. You will analyze problems systematically, identify root causes, implement solutions, and minimize user downtime through effective troubleshooting.
Windows and Active Directory Management – You will manage Windows environments including user account creation and management in Active Directory, group policy administration, domain join operations, user profile management, access permissions configuration, password resets, account troubleshooting, and ensuring proper AD structure and security.
Software Installation and Management – You will install, configure, and update software applications, manage software licenses, deploy software updates and patches, troubleshoot application issues, coordinate with vendors for software support, maintain software inventory, ensure license compliance, and support users with application-related problems.
Hardware Maintenance and Upgrades – You will perform hardware maintenance including RAM upgrades, hard drive replacements, component installations, hardware diagnostics, coordinating with vendors for warranty repairs, managing hardware inventory, tracking IT assets, and ensuring desktop hardware remains current and functional.
Network Connectivity Support – You will troubleshoot network connectivity issues including Wi-Fi problems, ethernet connection failures, VPN configuration and troubleshooting, network printer setup, network drive mapping, IP configuration issues, DNS problems, and ensuring users maintain reliable network access.
Email and Communication Systems Support – You will support email systems (Microsoft Outlook, Exchange, Office 365), configure email accounts, troubleshoot email issues, manage mailbox settings, configure mobile devices for email access, resolve synchronization problems, and ensure users have reliable email and communication services.
Remote Desktop and VPN Support – You will support remote access technologies including VPN configuration and troubleshooting, remote desktop connections, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) support, remote support tools, assisting remote workers with connectivity, and enabling secure remote access to corporate resources.
Security and Compliance – You will implement security best practices including antivirus management, malware removal, encryption configuration, security patch deployment, user security awareness, incident reporting, coordinating with security teams on threats, and ensuring endpoint security compliance with company policies.
Mobile Device Support – You will support mobile devices including smartphones and tablets, configure corporate email on mobile devices, troubleshoot mobile device issues, support MDM (Mobile Device Management) solutions, coordinate device provisioning, and assist users with mobile technology.
