Position Overview:

Google is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Counsel to join their legal team in Dubai. This role involves advising executives, business teams, and cross-functional partners on a wide range of legal matters across the MENA region. The successful candidate will tackle significant legal challenges that span multiple areas of law and require a deep understanding of MENA's unique legal landscape.

Responsibilities:

Advise executives, business teams, and cross-functional partners on various legal matters including commercial agreements, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, content moderation, data protection, and consumer protection.

Anticipate and assess legal risks, developing creative and effective strategies to mitigate or eliminate potential issues.

Address significant legal challenges across multiple areas of law specific to the MENA region.

Provide timely and comprehensive legal support on issues including litigation, regulatory inquiries, product-related matters, and commercial agreements.

Build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse network of external counsel throughout the MENA region, ensuring expert legal guidance on complex and nuanced issues.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.

7 years of experience in advisory, litigation, and regulatory within the intellectual property and technology-related areas in the MENA region.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to build effective relationships across relevant stakeholders.

Outstanding verbal/written communication and people skills.

Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad range of legal matters.

Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with a quick turnaround.

Ability to communicate fluently in English and Arabic to engage with both internal and external stakeholders on various legal matters.
