Job Description:

The Senior Contracts Engineer will play a crucial role in managing and implementing cost controls and financial procedures as stipulated in construction contracts. This position involves assessing client variations, evaluating contractor claims, and ensuring compliance with project budgets. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Implement commercial and contractual matters within a multi-disciplinary team environment.

Analyze project variations and changes, prepare project reports, and adjust project budgets as necessary.

Measure and assess works on-site and from drawings, utilizing electronic measurement systems where applicable.

Verify invoices from third parties to ensure accuracy against actual work and materials used on-site.

Identify and assess project risks, communicating these effectively to team members and management.

Collaborate with Cost/Commercial and Planning teams to align site-based data with contractual clauses and project timelines.

Demonstrate proficiency in both pre and post-contract phases of project work.

Participate in tender evaluations and contribute to the review of claims, providing recommendations for management consideration.

Requirements:

Minimum of 12 years' work experience, including at least 5 years managing mega-scale mixed-use development projects with multiple stakeholders and numerous contracts.

Bachelor's degree in a relevant Engineering field.

Certifications related to Contract Management, particularly in Cost and Claims management, are highly desirable.

Proven professional progression and experience in managing complex construction contracts.

Strong proficiency in contract administration, commercial management, and project controls.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and concisely.

Ability to work effectively in a diverse and multicultural environment.
