Job Description
Fortis Games is looking for a Senior Accountant to join its finance team as a key contributor in supporting the financial operations of a rapidly scaling, global mobile gaming studio. As a fully remote, international team fully committed to crafting meaningful games, Fortis offers a genuinely distinctive environment for a finance professional who wants to do meaningful, high-impact work within one of the most community-driven gaming companies in the world. This is a full-picture role where you will manage international entities, lead revenue recognition processes, and help build a world-class finance function from the ground up. Careflow
In this role, you will ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 and company policies, and support month-end and year-end close processes related to revenue. You will ensure accurate, timely payroll processing in dedicated locations in coordination with internal and external partners, and manage invoicing and accounting activities for multiple international entities, ensuring compliance with local GAAP and statutory requirements. Maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audit processes, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements and reports will all form part of your regular responsibilities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and systems, and actively design and apply AI-powered workflows across your tasks, sharing effective approaches with the broader Finance team to continuously raise the standard of how the team operates.
The ideal candidate brings demonstrated expertise in mobile gaming revenue recognition, specifically within Free-to-Play environments and ASC 606 standards, along with a proven track record managing full-cycle accounting and international reporting under both IFRS and GAAP. A CPA or Chartered Accountant designation is preferred. You bring hands-on experience with accounting and reporting systems such as Workday, Adaptive Insights, and Looker, and are proficient in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel. A demonstrated ability to integrate AI into your day-to-day work is important, as is a highly self-motivated approach and the critical thinking needed to build financial processes in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment. Experience driving complex projects across multiple stakeholders, timelines, and global budgets is expected, and exposure to royalty accounting is a welcomed plus.
Fortis Games offers a fully remote, globally inclusive work environment where everyone feels they belong, thriving on collaboration across diverse perspectives and fostering a strong sense of community within and across teams. With over 150 people across nine or more countries, you will be part of a seasoned team of accomplished talent who have left meaningful marks in their disciplines both in and out of gaming, in a studio where your work in finance will directly support the kind of games that challenge minds, build connections, and inspire communities.
