Position Overview:

Food World Group, a leading retailer, is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Bahrain. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with a proven track record of managing complex financial operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.

Accounts Management:

Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.

Maintain accurate and complete financial records.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.

Monitor and report on variances between actual performance and budget/forecast.

Audit and Compliance:

Coordinate and manage internal and external audits.

Ensure compliance with local accounting standards and regulations.

Taxation:

Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with local laws.

Manage and coordinate tax audits and correspondence with tax authorities.

Financial Analysis:

Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions.

Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data.

Process Improvement:

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

Stay updated on the latest accounting software and technology trends.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

5-7 years of experience in accounting and finance roles, preferably in the retail industry.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Must hold a valid Residence Permit in Bahrain (for local transfer).

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is an advantage.
