Role Overview – Gulf Navigation Holding is hiring a Senior Accountant for a full-time, on-site position based in Dubai. This position is ideal for experienced accounting professionals with strong financial expertise, maritime and shipping industry knowledge, and the ability to manage accounting operations effectively, oversee financial records, ensure regulatory compliance, provide financial analysis, manage budgets, and contribute to organizational financial success within a dynamic maritime and shipping organization.

Financial Statement Preparation and Reporting – You will oversee preparation of comprehensive financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in compliance with IFRS standards and UAE regulatory requirements. You will ensure statements are accurate, complete, and prepared within required timeframes for management review, stakeholder reporting, and regulatory submission with appropriate disclosures supporting informed decision-making.

General Ledger Management and Control – You will manage and maintain the general ledger by recording all financial transactions, ensuring accurate account classification, and overseeing monthly reconciliation processes. You will verify transaction postings, investigate discrepancies, supervise accounting staff, and ensure the general ledger balances with supporting documentation and audit requirements.

Vessel Accounting and Tracking – You will manage vessel accounting by tracking vessel-specific costs, recording operating expenses, and maintaining vessel financial records. You will allocate costs appropriately by vessel, analyze vessel profitability, and support operational cost management. You should understand maritime vessel accounting fundamentals.

Shipping Revenue Recognition – You will manage shipping revenue by recording freight revenue, charter income, and other shipping services revenue appropriately according to contract terms. You will coordinate with operations regarding voyage completion and billing, track revenue by vessel and route, and ensure accurate shipping revenue accounting.
