About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with specific expertise in the apparel industry to join our finance team. This role requires in-depth knowledge of financial reporting, payroll management, and cost accounting within the fashion and apparel sector.
Position Overview
As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for managing complex financial operations, with a particular focus on apparel industry-specific accounting practices, including costing models for garment production and inventory valuation.
Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum 5+ years of accounting experience, with significant exposure to the apparel industry
Strong knowledge of apparel industry costing methods and pricing structures
Expert understanding of financial reporting standards
Advanced proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
Experience with manufacturing cost accounting
Core Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
Prepare and analyze financial statements
Manage month-end and year-end closing processes
Develop and maintain apparel costing models
Handle statutory reporting and compliance
Cost Accounting
Implement and maintain product costing systems
Track manufacturing costs and variance analysis
Monitor inventory valuation and costing
Analyze production costs and efficiency metrics
Payroll & Operations
Oversee payroll processing and compliance
Manage accounts payable and receivable
Monitor cash flow and banking relationships
Supervise accounting staff and operations
Strategic Planning
Contribute to budgeting and forecasting
Analyze business performance metrics
Provide financial insights for decision-making
Recommend process improvements
Required Expertise
Advanced knowledge of apparel industry accounting practices
Strong understanding of manufacturing cost accounting
Expertise in inventory management and valuation
Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting
Leadership and team management skills
Experience with fashion industry ERP systems
