Position Overview

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing complex accounting operations, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and international accounting standards. This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

Manage the general ledger and ensure accuracy of all accounting entries

Oversee accounts payable and receivable operations

Conduct monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies

Implement and maintain internal financial controls

Support budget preparation and variance analysis

Lead month-end and year-end closing processes

Prepare financial reports for management and external stakeholders

Coordinate with external auditors during audit processes

Monitor cash flow and assist in treasury management

Supervise junior accounting staff and review their work

Ensure compliance with IFRS standards and local regulations

Assist in process improvement initiatives within the finance department

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent)

Minimum 5-7 years of accounting experience with at least 3 years in a senior role

Strong knowledge of IFRS and Qatar tax regulations

Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel

Experience with financial reporting in a large corporate environment

Fluency in English (Arabic language skills are a plus)
