Job Description

Chestertons is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial operations. This role involves overseeing the preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic insights to management.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting:

Prepare and oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and reporting requirements.

Analyze financial data and provide insights to management for strategic decision-making.

Present financial reports to stakeholders, including executives and board members.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Develop and manage the organization’s budgeting process, working closely with department heads to establish financial goals and objectives.

Monitor budget performance and variance analysis, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.

Forecast financial trends and outcomes based on current data and market conditions.

Financial Operations Management:

Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and payroll processing.

Monitor period cash flows and treasury functions of group entities.

Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and mitigate financial risks.

Streamline accounting processes and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity.

Assist in IT and transformation projects as needed.

Compliance and Audit:

Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors to provide necessary documentation and explanations.

Ensure submissions of period VAT, WHT returns, and compliance with local CT and TP regulations, liaising with tax consultants.

Ensure compliance with tax regulations, filing requirements, and other statutory obligations.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting.

Qualifications: ACA, CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification.

Experience: 5-6 years of experience in relevant industries.

Skills:

Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems.

Expert knowledge of IFRS, IAS.

Knowledge of VAT, CT, WHT rules and regulations in the UAE and KSA.
