Duties & Responsibilities:

As a Sanction Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that the company adheres to all relevant sanctions laws and regulations. You will work within the compliance team to manage and mitigate risks related to financial crimes, particularly focusing on sanctions compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Compliance Monitoring: Monitor and ensure compliance with international sanctions regulations.

Transaction Screening: Conduct sanctions screening of transactions, customers, and counterparties.

Risk Assessment: Perform risk assessments and identify potential sanctions risks.

Policy Implementation: Implement and enforce sanctions compliance policies and procedures.

Training: Provide training to staff on sanctions compliance and related topics.

Reporting: Prepare and submit reports on sanctions compliance to senior management and regulatory bodies.

Investigation: Investigate and resolve any issues related to sanctions breaches.

Stay Informed: Keep up-to-date with changes in sanctions laws and regulations and adjust company policies accordingly.

Qualifications:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree from a university in any relevant field.

Minimum 3 years of experience in banking or financial services sector, with at least 2 years in financial crime compliance roles.

Relevant compliance certification such as ACAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist), CGSS (Certified Global Sanctions Specialist), ICA (International Compliance Association) certification, etc.

Skills & Abilities:

Strong understanding of international sanctions regulations and compliance requirements.

Excellent analytical and investigative skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Proficiency in using compliance-related software and tools.

Contract Details:

Initial contract period of 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.
