Client Overview

Linum Consult’s client is a well-established international conglomerate involved in a wide variety of civil engineering and industrial construction projects. They are currently seeking a Regional Contract Manager to oversee their international projects, based in Istanbul, Turkey.

Key Responsibilities

Contract Strategy Development: Develop and deliver the contracts management strategy for various international projects.

Claims and Amendments: Prepare and submit extension of time and/or cost claims, defend against claims, and manage contract amendments. Leverage contractual opportunities through effective change request management.

Contract Clarification: Provide contract clarification and interpretation to project teams to minimize contractual risk and exposure while maximizing commercial opportunities.

Contract Execution Oversight: Ensure that project teams correctly interpret and execute the terms and conditions of contracts, consortiums, and subcontracts. Oversee ongoing work orders to ensure compliance with contracts by customers, consortium partners, and sub-suppliers.

Drafting Responses: Draft important contractual responses with the help of project teams, including change management activities such as change requests and change orders.

Representation: Represent projects in meetings and negotiations regarding contractual issues.

Contract Administration: Administer contract archives and maintain proper documentation.

Legal Liaison: Liaise with the Legal Team for any necessary legal reviews or inputs.

Profile Requirements

Educational Background: Degree in Law, ideally with a master’s degree in Construction Law or a similar relevant subject.

Experience: Minimum of 12 years’ experience in contract management for substantial international construction and engineering projects.

Contract Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of FIDIC contracts and contract standards used in Turkey.

Language Proficiency: Fluent in spoken and written English.

Project Management Skills: Strong understanding of project, schedule, and risk management impacts.

Communication & Negotiation: Excellent communicator and negotiator with a proven history of dealing with clients and senior stakeholders.
