Job Overview: Smana Hotels is currently seeking a professional and customer-focused Receptionist / Telephone Operator to join our hospitality team. This position requires an individual who is warm, approachable, and highly skilled in handling guest inquiries both in person and over the phone. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating a welcoming environment for guests and ensuring smooth communication within the hotel.

Front Desk Responsibilities: As a Receptionist, the candidate will be the first point of contact for guests checking in and out of the hotel. Duties will include managing reservations, issuing room keys, processing payments, and addressing guest concerns promptly. Professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency are expected at all times in order to maintain the hotel’s high service standards.

Telephone Operations: A significant aspect of this role involves handling telephone operations. The candidate must be able to answer and route calls efficiently, take accurate messages, and provide information about hotel services. Experience in telephone etiquette and the ability to remain calm and polite under pressure are essential for delivering excellent service.

Software Knowledge: The ideal candidate must be experienced in using IDS software such as Opera and WINHS, which are widely utilized in hotel front office management. Daily tasks will involve checking room availability, updating bookings, and maintaining accurate records through these systems, ensuring that guests’ requirements are met without delays.

Guest Service Excellence: Delivering outstanding guest experiences is central to this role. The Receptionist / Telephone Operator will be responsible for handling guest requests, assisting with directions, and providing general information about hotel amenities. A courteous, attentive, and solution-oriented approach will be necessary to exceed guest expectations.

Job Requirements: Applicants must have 1–2 years of experience in hotel front office roles, preferably in similar positions within the UAE hospitality industry. Proficiency in IDS software is mandatory, and strong communication skills in English are required. The ability to multitask, remain composed under pressure, and maintain a professional appearance at all times will be key to success in this position.
