Job Description
Pre-Contract Estimation & BOQ Preparation: The Quantity Surveyor will prepare detailed Bills of Quantities, cost estimates, technical quantities, and take-offs for all civil works. Responsibilities include reviewing IFC drawings, tender packages, specifications, and contract documents to support competitive and accurate pricing.
Tendering & Commercial Submissions: The candidate will assist in the tendering process, develop pricing strategies, prepare commercial submissions, and conduct market rate analysis to ensure all project bids are both cost-effective and compliant with industry standards.
Post-Contract Cost Control: This role requires monitoring project budgets through interim payment applications, re-measurements, cost reports, and cash-flow forecasts. The QS will manage variations, claims, EOT cost impacts, and commercial correspondences to maintain financial control.
Subcontractor Management & Verification: Responsibilities include verifying and evaluating subcontractor quotations, agreements, measurements, and payment certificates, ensuring that all subcontractor activities align with project budgets and contractual requirements.
Site Coordination & Measurement Validation: The Quantity Surveyor will conduct regular site inspections to validate measurements, track progress, monitor material usage, and identify site-level cost deviations, ensuring projects are executed efficiently and within budget.
Commercial Documentation & Reporting: The candidate will prepare detailed commercial reports, justify variations and claims, and maintain proper documentation of all financial transactions, supporting transparency and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
Collaboration & Compliance: The QS will coordinate closely with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Planning, Procurement, and Accounts teams, ensuring compliance with UAE construction standards, local authority guidelines, and contractual requirements.
