Job Description

Viva HR Consultants is seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing costs and ensuring the efficiency and profitability of construction projects in the vibrant city of Dubai, UAE.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparation of BOQ:

Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) based on tender/contract documents.

Ensure accuracy in BOQ preparation by verifying on-site and off-site quantities.

Quantity Verification:

Conduct on-site and off-site quantity verifications and confirm details with regards to payments and variation works.

Take off all quantities from received shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and specifications, including items not mentioned in BOQ or not clearly shown in the drawings.

BOQ and Specification Check:

Verify BOQ items concerning quantity and specifications required.

Report any discrepancies found in tender documents, especially between drawings, specifications, and BOQ to the Estimation Manager and design team.

Shop Drawings and Material Quantities:

Prepare shop drawings as required, including layouts for tenders.

Based on shop/fabrication drawings, take off all material quantities including consumables and issue to the Project Manager for on-site material control.

Quotation and Subcontractor Review:

Study and verify received quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, challenging unit rates where necessary.

Assist in writing and filling of BOQ to be submitted to the Consultant/Client.

Material Purchase Requests:

Review material purchase requests raised by the execution team, ensuring alignment with project requirements.

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.

Experience:

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.

Skills:

In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and procurement processes.

Proficiency in relevant software for cost estimating and project management.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Certifications:

Professional certification or membership in relevant industry associations is a plus.

Salary:

AED 10,000 to 12,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
