Job Description: Quantity Surveyor (Road & Infrastructure)

Roles & Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for road and infrastructure projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project requirements.

Quantity Takeoffs: Conduct comprehensive quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and prepare detailed bills of quantities.

Drawing and Specification Analysis: Analyze construction drawings and specifications to identify potential issues and provide cost-effective solutions.

Cost Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor project costs continuously and prepare progress reports for stakeholders to ensure budget adherence.

Change Order Management: Manage change orders and variations, ensuring all changes are documented and approved.

On-Site Inspections: Conduct regular on-site inspections to ensure quality control and compliance with project specifications.

Contractor Payment Review: Review and validate contractor payment applications to ensure accuracy and adherence to contract terms.

Final Accounts and Project Closeout: Prepare final accounts and handle all project closeout procedures efficiently.

Regulation and Cost Trend Updates: Stay updated with industry regulations and cost trends to provide accurate and current cost advice.

Desired Candidate Profile:

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in road and infrastructure projects.

Regulatory Knowledge: Experience working with government agencies and a solid understanding of local regulations.

Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and costs.

Software Proficiency: Proficient in the use of quantity surveying software and tools.

Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.

Communication Skills: Effective communication and negotiation skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels.

Independence: Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively.
