Job Description:

A leading contracting company based in Sharjah is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement activities. The ideal candidate will have a background in the construction or contracting industry, and strong expertise in managing procurement processes, supplier relationships, and cost control to ensure the timely and cost-effective supply of materials. The role is key to supporting the operational efficiency and project success of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

   - Develop and implement effective procurement strategies for the timely purchase of materials, equipment, and services.

   - Ensure procurement activities align with project requirements and company policies.

   - Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to establish long-term relationships.

   - Monitor supplier performance to ensure quality standards and timely delivery of goods.

   - Prepare and manage purchasing budgets, ensuring cost-efficiency.

   - Review and negotiate contracts, ensuring the best value for the company.

   - Coordinate with internal departments to manage inventory levels, avoid shortages, and ensure the timely supply of materials to project sites.

   - Oversee logistics to optimize delivery schedules and reduce costs.

   - Ensure that all purchasing activities comply with company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards.

   - Manage risks related to supply chain disruptions and implement mitigation strategies.

   - Lead and manage the purchasing team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluation.

   - Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on procurement needs.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (B.Tech - Civil) or equivalent.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Purchasing Manager in reputable contracting or construction companies.

   - Strong negotiation, communication, and decision-making skills.

   - Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.

   - Knowledge of local and international suppliers, logistics, and market trends.
