Detail Talent is recruiting on behalf of an international engineering consultancy to appoint an experienced Project Controls Specialist for a long-term Public Works Authority (Ashghal) assignment in Qatar. This position is tailored for a dedicated project controls practitioner residing in Qatar who possesses proven experience navigating Ashghal program requirements and consultancy oversight.

The primary responsibilities of this role center on tracking integrated project controls frameworks, analyzing progress variances, and managing cost performance across assigned Ashghal construction packages. Daily activities involve updating master baseline schedules in Primavera P6, conducting Earned Value Analysis, auditing contractor progress submittals, and calculating schedule and cost variance indicators. The Project Controls Specialist will assist in evaluating baseline revision requests, monitoring project cash flow forecasts, compiling risk registers, preparing monthly progress dashboards, and collaborating closely with project managers and client representatives to ensure strict alignment with Ashghal control standards.

Candidates applying for this position must demonstrate 14 or more years of post-qualification experience in project controls, planning, scheduling, or cost control within the civil infrastructure or heavy construction sector. A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline is required. Direct prior experience working on Ashghal projects within an engineering consultancy environment is strictly mandatory.
