Job Description
Role Overview – Progressive is hiring a Payroll Specialist for a full-time, on-site position based in Dubai. This position is ideal for detail-oriented payroll professionals with strong payroll system expertise, comprehensive knowledge of UAE labor regulations, and the ability to manage payroll operations effectively, ensure regulatory compliance, process accurate payments, administer employee benefits, and support organizational payroll excellence within a dynamic business environment.
Payroll Processing and Execution – You will process monthly and periodic payroll for all employees by calculating salaries, deductions, and benefits with accuracy and timeliness. You will manage payroll databases, prepare payment files for bank processing, ensure correct payment methods and timing, and maintain payroll records documentation.
Salary Calculation and Verification – You will calculate employee salaries accurately based on employment contracts, salary structures, and agreed compensation packages. You will apply salary components correctly, account for allowances and deductions, verify calculations for accuracy, and reconcile payroll to general ledger accounts.
UAE Labor Law Compliance – You will ensure strict compliance with UAE labor law, Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MOHRE) regulations, and all payroll-related legal requirements. You will maintain knowledge of labor law updates, ensure compliant employment practices, process legally required payments, and maintain documentation supporting compliance.
Leave Management and Administration – You will manage employee leave administration by tracking leave balances, processing leave requests, calculating leave entitlements, and accruing leave liabilities. You will coordinate leave approvals with managers, process leave payments upon termination, ensure accurate leave records, and maintain leave compliance.
VAT and Tax Compliance – You will ensure VAT compliance in payroll processing where applicable and maintain accurate tax documentation. You will understand tax treatment of payroll items, maintain compliant records, and support tax reporting requirements in the UAE environment.
Gratuity and End of Service Calculations – You will calculate end-of-service gratuity payments in compliance with UAE labor law requirements. You will determine gratuity eligibility, calculate gratuity amounts accurately, process gratuity payments upon employee departure, and maintain proper gratuity documentation.
