The Ophthalmology Medical Enabler is a strategic role focused on providing technical and functional expertise to enhance patient access and outcomes within the field of ophthalmology. This position requires a deep understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to facilitate effective solutions and improved patient care. The Medical Enabler will serve as a local medical/scientific expert and support the implementation of strategic plans across therapeutic areas.
Key Responsibilities:
Coaching & Mentoring: Guide and mentor Patient Journey Partners (PJPs) and Healthcare System Partners (HSPs) to develop and execute strategic plans that have a positive external impact on patient access and outcomes.
Thought Partner: Collaborate with PJPs and HSPs to deliver and implement solutions within the healthcare ecosystem, addressing patient needs and enhancing service delivery.
Team Coordination: Work within a self-managed team, ensuring accountability and effective solution delivery across therapeutic areas.
Ecosystem Understanding: Gain a comprehensive understanding of external ecosystem needs as articulated by PJPs and HSPs, and identify solutions that offer rapid and sustainable outcomes.
Support & Expertise: Assist in solution delivery, provide technical expertise, and act as a coach for PJPs and HSPs on medical-related topics.
Medical Affairs: Support PPOCs in medical affairs activities, including analyzing data and providing strategic recommendations.
Collaboration: Facilitate collaboration between PPOCs and Medical Affairs functions, including safety, clinical operations, and quality.
Therapy Area Expertise: Offer local expertise in ophthalmology and other relevant therapy areas, ensuring compliance with industry codes and regulations.

Requirements:

Educational & Background Qualifications:
Preferred Degree: MD; University degree in pharmacy or a relevant medical discipline (preferably ophthalmology or optometry).
Experience: Approximately 5 years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of pharma industry codes of conduct and regulations.
Languages: Fluent in English; Arabic is preferred.
