Operations Officer

Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operations Officer with a strong marine industry background to join our team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing operational activities while ensuring compliance with maritime regulations and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate daily marine operations and emergency response activities

Monitor vessel movements and maintain operational schedules

Ensure compliance with maritime safety regulations and company policies

Coordinate with crew members, management, and relevant authorities

Maintain accurate operational records and documentation

Assist in emergency response planning and execution

Monitor weather conditions and provide necessary updates to relevant teams

Coordinate vessel maintenance schedules with technical teams

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports

Manage crew scheduling and resource allocation

Liaise with port authorities and maritime agencies

Support incident investigation and reporting processes

Ensure proper implementation of HSE policies

Assist in training programs for operational staff

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, or related field

Proven experience in marine operations

Strong knowledge of maritime regulations and safety standards

Valid marine certifications as applicable

Proficiency in maritime communication systems

Strong command of English (written and verbal)

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in emergency response operations

Knowledge of UAE maritime regulations

Arabic language skills

Experience with marine emergency protocols

Familiarity with vessel tracking systems

Strong organizational and coordination abilities

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations

Good problem-solving and decision-making capabilities

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Strong attention to detail

Ability to work in shifts

Working Conditions

Office-based with possible field visits

May require working in shifts

On-call availability for emergency situations

Must be able to respond to urgent situations promptly
