Saudi German Health UAE

NICU - PICU Staff Nurse

Job Description

Position Overview: Saudi German Health UAE is seeking highly skilled and compassionate NICU/PICU Staff Nurses to join our specialized neonatal and pediatric intensive care units in Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah. The successful candidates will provide critical care to newborns, infants, and children requiring intensive medical attention. This role demands exceptional clinical expertise, patience, and a nurturing approach to the most vulnerable patients.

Key Responsibilities: The NICU/PICU Staff Nurse will be responsible for monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and supporting advanced life-saving interventions for neonates and pediatric patients. Nurses will work closely with pediatricians and neonatologists to provide high-quality care, including assisting in resuscitation, intubation, and ventilator management. Daily duties also include preparing and maintaining equipment and ensuring strict infection control protocols.

Clinical Expertise and Patient Care: This role requires a deep understanding of neonatal and pediatric physiology, critical care procedures, and specialized equipment such as incubators, ventilators, and infusion pumps. NICU/PICU nurses must accurately assess patient conditions, recognize early warning signs, and take prompt action to stabilize critical cases. Compassionate care and family support are also integral, as nurses often educate parents about care routines and progress updates.

Team Collaboration and Communication: NICU/PICU nurses work as part of a multidisciplinary team, including doctors, respiratory therapists, and other nursing staff, to ensure coordinated patient care. Strong communication skills are essential for reporting patient status, collaborating during emergencies, and providing guidance to junior staff. Maintaining clear and precise documentation and communicating effectively with families is a key part of the role.

Documentation and Compliance: Maintaining accurate and comprehensive medical records for all patients in the NICU/PICU is critical. Nurses must ensure that treatment plans, medications, and procedures are documented in compliance with DHA/MOH standards. Following hospital protocols, safety guidelines, and infection prevention measures is mandatory to guarantee patient safety and quality care.

6. Professional Development and Training:

Saudi German Health UAE emphasizes professional growth and continuing education. NICU/PICU Staff Nurses are encouraged to participate in specialized training programs, workshops, and certifications in neonatal and pediatric care. The organization provides opportunities to expand clinical knowledge, enhance critical care skills, and stay updated with the latest medical advancements.
