Position Overview
P.A.W. Media and Communications seeks a creative and technically skilled Multimedia Producer & Trainer to manage our newly established multimedia workspace in Lajamanu, Northern Territory. This role combines hands-on media production with community engagement and training, focusing on preserving Indigenous language and culture through various media formats.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily operations of P.A.W.'s radio broadcasting site and multimedia office in Lajamanu
Produce and support the creation of short films, music videos, social media content, radio broadcasts, and podcasts
Develop and implement community-focused media and creative production plans
Provide technical and creative training to Indigenous media workers
Coordinate community engagement activities and maintain stakeholder relationships
Support larger film productions, documentaries, concerts, and studio recordings
Manage production budgets, funding applications, and grant reporting
Establish long-term strategies including development of recording studio and rehearsal space
Supervise and mentor Indigenous media workers
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in cross-cultural work, preferably with Indigenous Australians in remote settings
Proven track record in multimedia content production and training
Technical expertise with video equipment (Sony, Panasonic, Blackmagic, DJI Mavic drones, action cameras)
Proficiency in audio recording, broadcasting, and digital editing
Experience with professional software (Pro Tools, Logic, Davinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere)
Strong budget management and report writing abilities
Current Australian Driver's License (Manual vehicle)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and demonstrate resourcefulness
Preferred Qualifications
Screen & Media Production qualifications (Cert IV or higher) or equivalent experience
Credited experience in radio, documentary, or online video production
Experience living and working in remote Australian Indigenous communities
4WD experience
Work Environment
Based in Lajamanu, NT (population ~600)
Extensive travel through Aboriginal Lands
Flexible schedule including evenings and occasional weekends
Shared accommodation possible with other P.A.W. staff
Remote location with basic community services available
Requirements
Must pass National Police Check
Must obtain OCHRE Card (Working with Children Check)
Must be Australian Citizen, Resident, or hold valid Working Visa until 2026
