Job Description
Position Summary:
As an MRT Technician at Marriott International, you will be responsible for attending to guest repair requests and performing preventive maintenance on various tools, kitchen, and mechanical room equipment. Your role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel's facilities and maintaining high standards of guest satisfaction.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Guest Repair Requests:
Respond promptly to guest repair requests and communicate effectively with guests to resolve maintenance issues.
Preventive Maintenance:
Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, and visual inspections.
Maintenance Inventory:
Maintain the inventory of maintenance tools and equipment, requisitioning parts and supplies as needed.
Facility Operations:
Identify, locate, and operate shut-off valves for equipment and utilities, ensuring proper operation and safety.
Communication:
Communicate daily activities and issues to other shifts using approved communication programs and standards.
Basic Knowledge & Skills:
Display or acquire basic knowledge in areas such as air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, and finish skills.
Repair & Maintenance:
Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall, wood trim repairs, light bulb and A/C filter replacement, and thorough cleanup of work areas.
Troubleshooting:
Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on various equipment, plumbing systems, electrical components, and other guestroom items.
Safety & Security:
Follow company safety and security policies, report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, and complete safety training and certifications.
Team Collaboration:
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members, supporting them to reach common goals.
Physical Tasks:
Move, lift, carry, push, pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and perform tasks involving bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
Computer Skills:
Display basic computer skills, including inputting air handler schedules and making temperature adjustments.
Other Duties:
Perform additional duties as requested by management, adhering to Marriott's quality expectations and standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent.
Related Work Experience:
Experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation, and painting.
Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is a plus.
Supervisory Experience:
No supervisory experience required.
Required Qualifications:
License/Certification:
Valid Driver’s License.
