Position: Mechanical Head

Job Purpose:

The Mechanical Head is responsible for overseeing all mechanical engineering activities at the white cement factory. This includes the installation and commissioning of equipment and ensuring the plant's mechanical equipment and systems are safely maintained, repaired, or replaced post-commissioning. The role also involves managing both internal revenue and capital expenditure projects for the factory.

Responsibilities:

Technical Management:

Develop and implement maintenance strategies, policies, and procedures for all mechanical equipment.

Oversee the commissioning of the plant, including the Material Handling, Raw mill (Roll Press), Pyro, and Cement mill sections, coordinating with stakeholders.

Monitor machinery performance, ensuring minimal downtime and high efficiency.

Conduct regular inspections to identify issues and areas for improvement.

Work closely with the production team to ensure mechanical operations align with production goals.

Stay updated on technological advancements and recommend equipment upgrades or modifications.

Team Leadership:

Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and technicians.

Set clear objectives, conduct evaluations, and provide feedback.

Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Encourage teamwork and collaboration across departments.

Maintenance and Repairs:

Develop preventive and corrective maintenance plans for machinery.

Coordinate timely repairs, troubleshooting, and equipment modifications.

Maintain accurate maintenance records, including repairs and upgrades.

Monitor reliability, analyze failures, and implement reliability measures.

Compliance and Safety:

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.

Conduct safety audits and inspections to mitigate risks.

Promote safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols.

Coordinate with the HSE department to address safety concerns.

Budgeting and Cost Control:

Prepare and manage the mechanical department's annual budget.

Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

Track expenses and maintenance costs to optimize spending.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

20+ years of experience in cement (preferably white cement).

Knowledge of ISO 90001 standards.

Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SAP/ERP systems.

Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate with stakeholders.

Salary:

AED 18,000 to 20,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
