Advenser

Mechanical Design Engineers - Remote

Job Description

Role Overview – Advenser Mechanical Design Engineers we are hiring experienced Mechanical Design Engineers with 2–10 years of hands-on experience to work on HVAC design, mechanical systems, and equipment selection for commercial, residential, and industrial construction projects. This role requires strong mechanical engineering knowledge, design software proficiency, and ability to deliver energy-efficient and code-compliant mechanical systems.

HVAC Design – You will design comprehensive heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for various building types including offices, hotels, hospitals, residential complexes, and industrial facilities. Performing detailed heating and cooling load calculations using software like Carrier HAP, TRACE 700, or Elite CHVAC. Selecting appropriate HVAC equipment including chillers, boilers, AHUs, FCUs, VAV boxes, VRF systems, and packaged units based on load requirements and project constraints.

Duct and Pipe Design – Designing duct distribution systems including supply, return, and exhaust ductwork with proper sizing, routing, and pressure drop calculations. Creating hydronic piping systems for chilled water, condenser water, heating hot water, and steam distribution. Ensuring proper pipe sizing, pressure calculations, and flow balancing for optimal system performance.

Mechanical Systems – Designing plumbing systems including domestic cold water, hot water, drainage, sanitary, and stormwater systems. Designing fire protection systems including wet pipe, dry pipe, and pre-action sprinkler systems in coordination with fire protection consultants. Specifying mechanical equipment, preparing equipment schedules, and creating technical specifications for procurement.

Energy Efficiency – Implementing energy-efficient design strategies to reduce building operational costs and environmental impact. Designing systems that meet energy code requirements and sustainability certifications like LEED, WELL, or Green Star. Performing energy modeling and optimization studies to compare different system options.

Software Proficiency – Strong proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D drafting is mandatory. Experience with Revit MEP for 3D BIM modeling of mechanical systems is highly preferred. Familiarity with load calculation software (Carrier HAP, TRACE 700, Elite CHVAC), duct sizing software, and pipe sizing tools. Experience with Navisworks for coordination is advantageous.

Codes and Standards – Ensuring designs comply with international mechanical codes (ASHRAE, IMC, IPC, NFPA) and local building regulations. Understanding of ASHRAE standards for HVAC design, indoor air quality, and energy efficiency. Familiarity with plumbing codes, fire protection standards, and mechanical equipment standards.

Calculations and Analysis – Performing engineering calculations including heat load calculations, ventilation rates, equipment sizing, duct/pipe sizing, pressure drop analysis, and pump/fan selections. Documenting all calculations and design basis for client review and approval.

Collaboration – Working with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, and other disciplines to integrate mechanical systems into overall building design. Participating in coordination meetings, reviewing architectural and structural drawings, and resolving interdisciplinary conflicts. Responding to RFIs from contractors and providing design clarifications during construction phase.

Drawing Production – Creating comprehensive mechanical design drawings including plans, sections, details, schematics, and riser diagrams. Preparing equipment schedules, specifications, and design reports. Ensuring drawings meet project standards and are construction-ready.
