Job Description / Role

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Consultant to join a prestigious government entity in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in providing legal advice within government organizations, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Preference will be given to Arabic speakers.

Key Responsibilities:

Legal Advisory:

Provide expert legal advice on matters pertaining to government operations, regulatory compliance, and public sector laws.

Interpret and analyze laws, rulings, and regulations to guide the organization’s policies and procedures.

Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and internal policies.

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure the organization’s activities comply with local, regional, and national laws.

Monitor changes in laws and regulations that may affect the organization and provide updates and recommendations to senior management.

Dispute Resolution:

Manage and resolve legal disputes, working closely with internal departments and external legal counsel.

Represent the organization in legal proceedings, if necessary.

Risk Management:

Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.

Provide training and guidance to staff on legal matters and risk management practices.

Corporate Governance:

Assist in maintaining high standards of corporate governance.

Prepare and manage documentation for board meetings, resolutions, and other governance matters.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law from a recognized university.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of legal experience, with at least 2 years in a government entity.

Proven track record in handling legal matters in the public sector.

Skills:

Strong understanding of UAE laws and regulations.

Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in legal drafting and negotiations.

Superior communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Language: Fluent in Arabic and English.
