Job Description:

As a Lecturer at University Foundation College, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education to students enrolled in various foundation programmes. Reporting to the Head of Academics/Principal, you will be responsible for teaching on either the NCUK Pre-International Foundation Programme (Pre-IFY), the International Foundation Year (IFY), or NCC International Foundation Diploma. Additionally, you will act as a tutor/co-tutor, providing guidance and support to a group of students throughout their academic journey. Your duties will include:

Taking attendance of students in the tutor group.

Planning and delivering engaging lessons according to the timetable.

Developing comprehensive lesson plans, scheme of work, and course handbooks.

Conducting continuous assessment tests and ensuring timely submission of marks.

Participating in extracurricular activities and assisting in their organization.

Invigilating internal and entrance examinations, including those scheduled on Saturdays.

Providing pastoral care to students, fostering a supportive learning environment.

Contributing to cross-college Continuous Professional Development (CPD) initiatives.

Completing student perception questionnaires and utilizing Virtual Learning Environments (VLE) to monitor student progress.

Maintaining standards expected by awarding bodies, industry stakeholders, and students.

Collaborating with colleagues to identify and support students at risk of non-completion of their programme.

Preparing teaching materials aligned with the syllabus and attending CPD sessions to enhance teaching skills.

Undertaking any other duties as assigned, commensurate with the grade of the post.

Requirements:

Education:

Minimum Qualification: Master’s degree qualification in a relevant subject/education.

University of Cambridge International Examinations Professional Development Courses and Certificate (AS/A level & IGSE) is an added advantage.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of teaching experience at Secondary/Higher Education level.

Professional Qualities:

English as a first language.

Sound content knowledge of the subject area.

Experience teaching British Curriculum at Advanced Level/Foundation Year Level or vocational qualifications.

Ability to assume additional responsibilities beyond teaching.

Proficiency in presentation methods and utilization of educational resources.

Strong observation skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Professional demeanor, sense of responsibility, and commitment to customer service.

Excellent time management, team-building, and communication skills.

ICT literate.
