Role Overview

GCB Recruitment is seeking a highly experienced Lead Interior Designer to join a prestigious design firm in Kuwait City. This firm is dedicated to leaving a legacy of design through its fully integrated end-to-end services. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to lead a range of projects from conception to delivery, providing thoughtful leadership to motivate and develop the design team.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership: Lead a broad range of interior design projects from inception to completion, ensuring design excellence and adherence to project timelines.

Team Management: Provide leadership, mentorship, and motivation to the interior design team, fostering a collaborative and creative environment.

Client Interaction: Confidently present design concepts and progress to internal teams and external clients, ensuring alignment with client expectations.

Sustainability Focus: Work on projects with a strong focus on LEED and WELL sustainable goals, contributing to environmentally responsible design practices.

Design Tools Proficiency: Utilize Revit and other 3D BIM design programs effectively to produce high-quality design work.

FF&E Expertise: Manage the selection, specification, and procurement of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) for various projects.

Requirements

Essential Requirements:

Experience: 15+ years as an Interior Designer, with significant experience in hospitality projects.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in interior design, architecture, or equivalent.

Project Management: Demonstrated experience in managing projects from inception through to completion.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Revit and other 3D BIM computer design programs.

Language Proficiency: Fluent in both written and spoken English.

Sustainability: Exposure to projects focused on LEED and WELL sustainable goals.

FF&E Experience: Strong background in FF&E selection and management.

Presentation Skills: Confident in presenting design concepts to teams and clients.

Desirable Requirements:

Certifications: LEED AP Accreditation, WELL Certification.

Professional Memberships: IIDA Membership, RIBA / AIA or equivalent.

Software Knowledge: Good knowledge of Lumion, Vray, Grasshopper, SketchUp, and InDesign.

Regional Experience: Previous work experience in the Middle East is a plus.
