Duties & Responsibilities:

AGS - American Gulf School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Language Teacher specializing in Mandarin Chinese. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, a deep understanding of Mandarin Chinese language and culture, and the ability to inspire students to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development: Design and implement a comprehensive Mandarin Chinese curriculum that aligns with educational standards and fosters language proficiency.

Classroom Instruction: Deliver engaging and effective Mandarin Chinese lessons to students, utilizing a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.

Student Assessment: Evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and other assessment tools. Provide feedback and support to help students improve their language skills.

Cultural Education: Incorporate cultural lessons into the curriculum to give students a broader understanding of Chinese traditions, customs, and history.

Extracurricular Activities: Organize and participate in language-related extracurricular activities, such as language clubs, cultural events, and competitions.

Professional Development: Stay current with the latest educational trends and best practices in language teaching. Attend workshops, conferences, and training sessions as required.

Parent Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents regarding student progress and any concerns that may arise.

Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to enhance the overall educational experience for students.

Classroom Management: Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning.

Desired Candidate Profile:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Education, Mandarin Chinese, or a related field. Teaching certification is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience in the UAE, specifically in Mandarin Chinese instruction.

Subject Expertise: Strong knowledge of Mandarin Chinese language and culture. Ability to teach all levels, from beginners to advanced students.

Passion for Teaching: Demonstrated passion for inspiring and engaging students. Commitment to fostering a love for learning.

Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner.

Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Adaptability: Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic educational environment.

Cultural Competence: Sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to work with a diverse student population.
