Project Involvement: The Junior Quantity Surveyor will actively contribute to the financial and commercial aspects of construction projects from start to finish. This includes participating in the initial planning and estimation phase, attending site inspections, and understanding project scope and specifications thoroughly to ensure accurate cost forecasting.

Cost Estimation: One of the core responsibilities will be assisting in the preparation of quantity take-offs and cost estimates. This involves measuring quantities of materials, labor, and equipment needed, referencing current market prices, and supporting the team in drafting competitive cost proposals that align with client expectations and budget constraints.

Tender Support: You will be instrumental in supporting the bid and tender process by helping to compile and organize all necessary documentation. This includes preparing bills of quantities (BOQ), liaising with the senior QS and procurement team, and ensuring all required documents are submitted on time to meet strict deadlines.

Procurement Coordination: The role will also require coordination with the procurement team to verify material costs and supplier quotations. You will ensure pricing is consistent and up-to-date while also analyzing supplier rates for accuracy and value.

Engineering Collaboration: Effective communication with engineering and technical teams is crucial. The Junior QS will work alongside engineers to verify specifications, identify cost-saving opportunities, and track changes to the project scope, making adjustments to estimates and BOQs accordingly.

Site Visits & Reporting: Occasional site visits will be required to validate on-site quantities and ensure ongoing works align with estimated projections. You will also prepare regular progress and cost reports for internal review, identifying any risks or variances early in the project timeline.
