Roles and Responsibilities: As a Junior NOC Engineer, your primary duty will be to monitor the company’s network systems continuously. This includes keeping an eye on performance metrics, identifying slowdowns, outages, or potential security threats, and responding promptly to mitigate them. Using advanced monitoring software, you will track the health of routers, switches, and servers to ensure uninterrupted operations. Additionally, you will assist in setting up alarms and thresholds to proactively detect issues before they affect business continuity.

Technical Troubleshooting: One of your core tasks will involve diagnosing and resolving network-related issues. Whether it’s a configuration error or an external disruption, you must act swiftly to pinpoint the problem and suggest solutions. You will also escalate critical issues to senior network engineers when necessary, ensuring all matters are addressed within defined service-level agreements (SLAs). Documentation of recurring problems and root causes will be part of your daily routine for continuous improvement.

Collaboration and Communication: You’ll work closely with other IT departments and senior engineers to troubleshoot complex issues and implement preventive strategies. This teamwork-oriented environment demands clear and timely communication. Whether during shift handovers or when discussing problems with stakeholders, your ability to explain technical matters simply and accurately is essential. You will also attend technical briefings and participate in improvement discussions with the IT leadership team.

System Maintenance and Configuration: Beyond monitoring, you’ll be involved in executing basic configuration tasks such as system updates, patch management, and hardware resets.
