Job Summary: We are currently seeking a dynamic and motivated Junior IT Support Specialist to join our growing team in Dubai. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure and providing timely technical assistance to our users. The ideal candidate will possess a foundational understanding of hardware, software, and networking principles, coupled with a proactive and problem-solving approach. You will be responsible for addressing a variety of IT-related issues, maintaining system efficiency, and contributing to the overall technological health of the organization.
Technical Support and Troubleshooting: A core responsibility of this role is to provide comprehensive technical support for a wide range of hardware, software, and network challenges. This includes diagnosing and resolving issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripheral devices. You will be expected to utilize your problem-solving skills to efficiently identify the root cause of problems and implement effective solutions, minimizing disruption to our users' productivity.
Installation, Configuration, and Maintenance: You will be tasked with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of various IT equipment, including computers, printers, and other essential hardware. This involves ensuring that all devices are properly set up and functioning optimally, as well as performing routine maintenance to prevent potential issues. Your attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures will be critical in this aspect of the role.
Network Connectivity and System Performance: Assisting in troubleshooting network connectivity and system performance issues is another key component of this position. You will work to identify and resolve network-related problems, ensuring stable and reliable connectivity for all users. This may involve monitoring network performance, diagnosing connectivity issues, and implementing necessary adjustments to maintain optimal system performance.
IT Support Ticket Management: You will be responsible for managing and responding to IT support tickets in a timely and efficient manner. This requires prioritizing tasks, accurately documenting issues and resolutions, and ensuring that all users receive prompt and effective support. Your ability to communicate clearly and professionally will be essential in providing a positive user experience.
User Support and Application Assistance: Providing support for email, software, and application-related issues is a crucial aspect of this role. You will assist users with various software applications, email configurations, and other technical queries, ensuring they can effectively utilize the company's IT resources. Your patience and ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner will be highly valued.
Documentation and Asset Inventory: Maintaining and updating IT documentation and asset inventory is essential for effective IT management. This involves accurately recording hardware and software information, documenting troubleshooting procedures, and ensuring that all IT assets are properly tracked. Your organizational skills and attention to detail will be vital in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
System Updates, Backups, and Security: You will assist in implementing system updates, backups, and security measures to protect the organization's data and infrastructure. This includes performing regular backups, installing software patches, and ensuring that security protocols are followed. Your proactive approach to security and data protection will contribute to the overall resilience of the IT environment.
Qualifications and Experience: To be successful in this role, you should possess a Degree/Diploma in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, along with 2-3 years of experience in IT support or a similar role. A basic understanding of Windows, macOS, networking, and troubleshooting is essential. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, email configurations, and IT security best practices is also required.
