Joinery Project Manager

Job Description

Role Overview – DMDC Group is looking for an experienced and organized Joinery Project Manager to oversee joinery projects from initial planning through final completion. The role will involve coordinating design, production, procurement, site activities, subcontractors, timelines, materials, and project deliverables. The successful candidate will be responsible for keeping projects on schedule, maintaining quality standards, managing resources effectively, and ensuring smooth communication between clients, internal teams, suppliers, and site personnel.

Project Planning & Scheduling – Develop clear project schedules covering design, material procurement, production, delivery, installation, and completion. Monitor progress against agreed timelines and take action when activities fall behind schedule.

Joinery Project Execution – Manage the complete execution of joinery projects while ensuring work is delivered according to approved drawings, specifications, quality expectations, and project requirements.

Design & Drawing Coordination – Coordinate with designers, draftsmen, and technical teams to review drawings, specifications, dimensions, finishes, and other project details before production or installation begins.

Production Coordination – Work closely with the joinery workshop and production teams to ensure manufacturing activities are aligned with approved designs, project schedules, and required quality standards.

Material & Procurement Coordination – Coordinate material requirements with procurement and suppliers. Monitor material availability, deliveries, specifications, and lead times to prevent production or installation delays.

Site Installation Management – Oversee joinery installation activities at project sites and coordinate with site teams to ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and according to approved plans.

Quality Control – Monitor workmanship, materials, finishes, dimensions, and installation quality throughout the project. Identify defects or discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions promptly.

Client Coordination – Maintain professional communication with clients and provide regular updates regarding project progress, schedules, deliverables, and any matters requiring attention or approval.

Subcontractor Management – Coordinate subcontractors and external specialists involved in project activities. Monitor their progress, quality of work, timelines, and compliance with agreed project requirements.

Timeline Management – Track key milestones and critical activities across design, production, delivery, and installation. Identify potential delays early and implement practical solutions to maintain project momentum.

Budget & Cost Monitoring – Monitor project costs, material usage, additional works, and other expenses. Coordinate with relevant teams to maintain cost control and identify potential budget concerns.

Variation Management – Coordinate changes, additional works, revised specifications, and client requests. Ensure variations are properly communicated, documented, and incorporated into project planning.

Project Documentation – Maintain accurate project records, including drawings, approvals, schedules, material information, progress reports, inspection records, variation details, and handover documentation.

Team Coordination – Coordinate effectively with designers, production staff, procurement teams, supervisors, installers, suppliers, subcontractors, and management to keep all project activities aligned.

Problem Solving – Handle project challenges such as material delays, drawing discrepancies, site constraints, production issues, or installation concerns. Develop practical solutions and escalate major issues when required.

Progress Reporting – Prepare regular project updates covering completed work, upcoming activities, project milestones, delays, risks, variations, and other important matters for management and clients.

Handover & Project Closeout – Coordinate final inspections, snagging, rectification works, completion activities, client approvals, and project handover. Ensure outstanding issues are followed through to successful closure.
