Job Overview:

The ITS Strategy Specialist at Stantec will play a crucial role in strategizing, planning, and implementing intelligent transportation systems (ITS) projects to help clients achieve their organizational objectives. As part of Stantec’s Management Consulting Group in the Middle East, the specialist will work closely with the client to support and advise on ITS innovation strategies and programs, particularly within the ITS Operation and Maintenance Departments. This is a client-facing role, requiring a dynamic, results-oriented professional who can deliver transformational solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

ITS Innovation Strategy Development:

Support and advise the client’s management in developing an ITS Innovation Lab and ITS Innovation Corridor in Qatar.

Develop strategies to support the implementation of the client’s innovation test and training lab.

Research and Vendor Engagement:

Conduct research to identify and engage with technology vendors and research entities to support the ITS Innovation strategy and program.

Manage pilot schemes by collaborating with technology vendors and research entities to develop business cases.

Technology Briefs and Innovation Implementation:

Prepare technology briefs on new ITS innovations for the client’s implementation team.

Coordinate with the Road Management Centre Operations and other ITS infrastructure teams to ensure the innovation program is current and addresses emerging challenges.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Identify, analyze, and study existing data sources. Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques.

Provide ongoing reports to management and clients, prioritizing business information needs.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:

Produce presentations, circulars, and other marketing materials to promote business achievements.

Present to external and internal stakeholders at all levels to accomplish the client’s program goals.

Project Management:

Create and update project progress schedules, ensuring alignment with the client’s objectives.

Requirements:

Educational Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, procurement, business administration, or a related field is required.

A Master’s degree from a Western country would be considered beneficial.

Experience:

Minimum of 10 years post-graduate work experience.

Advanced experience in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.

In-depth experience with current ITS infrastructure, innovative ITS technologies, and infrastructure.

Expertise in utilizing innovative ITS technologies for road authorities to improve network and infrastructure performance.

Experience in large-scale computing power for supporting current and future AI-powered ITS applications.

Knowledge of CAV (Connected and Autonomous Vehicles) and V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) technologies.

Experience with ATMS (Advanced Traffic Management System) integration with field devices and applications, with a focus on innovative practices.

Familiarity with cloud hosting, AI, and CAM (Connected Automated Mobility) as trending ITS innovations.
