Blackpoint Cyber

IT Support Engineer – Remote

Job Description

Blackpoint Cyber is looking for a hands-on and technically capable IT Support Engineer to help keep the core IT infrastructure running that its entire distributed workforce depends on. Founded in 2014 by former NSA and Department of Defense cybersecurity experts and fuelled by a recent USD 190 million Series C round, Blackpoint Cyber is in hyper-growth mode and building the team to match. This is a cloud-first, modern IT environment supporting approximately 230 people, and it is a great fit for a mid-level engineer who likes variety, thrives on ownership, and is energised by solving real problems in a remote, accountable setting.

In this role, you will provide escalated technical support for laptops, SaaS applications, availability, and identity-related issues across the environment, and handle IT onboarding and offboarding including device provisioning and access management while building systems that run smoothly without needing IT to step in every time. You will manage hardware inventory, warranties, and refresh cycles using MDM platforms including Microsoft Intune and Jamf, drive automation and scripting projects from idea to execution, and manage and continuously improve secure access across identity technologies including Microsoft Entra, Auth0, AWS VPN, and 1Password. Building and maintaining clear operational playbooks and documentation, logging work in Jira Service Management, serving as an escalation point on complex issues, and spotting patterns in recurring issues to propose improvements will all define how you work day to day.

The ideal candidate brings six or more years of IT experience including at least three years in systems administration, with experience supporting both macOS and Windows. Hands-on administration experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure Active Directory or Entra ID, along with working knowledge of Slack, Google Workspace, and Zoom, is required. You bring familiarity with IAM concepts including SSO, MFA, ZTNA, PAM and JIT, and IdP, experience with MDM platforms, and scripting knowledge in PowerShell, shell scripting, or Python. Exposure to ticketing systems and RPA tools, an understanding of the ITIL framework, and a service-first mindset that consistently earns appreciation from the people you support are all essential.

Blackpoint Cyber offers a remote-first environment where your work is visible and your input matters, a daytime-focused schedule with occasional after-hours support, exposure to modern tooling, and genuine room to grow within a company at the frontier of cybersecurity innovation.

When submitting your application, ensure your CV clearly highlights your years of IT and systems administration experience, your proficiency across macOS and Windows environments, your Microsoft 365 and Entra ID expertise, your MDM and IAM experience, and any automation or scripting projects you have led. Your cover letter should explain why you are drawn to the IT Support Engineer role at Blackpoint Cyber and reflect your ownership mindset and ability to thrive in a remote, fast-paced cybersecurity environment. Feel free to forward this opportunity to anyone in your network who may be a strong fit.
