Job Description

Role Overview —Al-Nahda College is seeking a reliable and technically capable IT Specialist to support the college’s daily technology operations. The role will involve maintaining IT systems, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supporting users, managing networks and devices, and helping ensure that technology remains secure, stable, and available across the organization. The ideal candidate should have strong problem-solving skills, a service-oriented approach, and the ability to handle technical issues efficiently in an educational environment.

IT Support & Troubleshooting — Provide day-to-day technical support to staff and users, diagnose IT issues, and resolve hardware, software, connectivity, and system-related problems efficiently.

Hardware Management — Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computers, printers, peripherals, and other IT equipment used across the college.

Software Support — Assist users with operating systems, business applications, productivity tools, and other approved software while resolving installation and configuration issues.

Network Support — Monitor and support network connectivity, wired and wireless infrastructure, and related equipment to help maintain reliable access to college systems.

User Account Management — Assist with creating, updating, and maintaining user accounts, access permissions, passwords, and other IT access requirements.

System Maintenance — Perform routine maintenance, updates, configuration checks, and basic system monitoring to help keep IT infrastructure stable and operational.

IT Asset Management — Maintain accurate records of computers, devices, peripherals, software, and other technology assets, including assignments and equipment status.

Technical Support Requests — Receive, prioritize, document, and follow up on technical support requests while keeping users informed about the progress of their issues.

Data Backup Support — Assist with established backup procedures and help ensure important systems and data are protected and recoverable when required.

Cybersecurity Support — Follow and support internal security practices, access controls, software updates, endpoint protection, and other measures designed to protect college systems and information.

Classroom & Academic Technology — Provide technical assistance for computers, presentation equipment, connectivity, and other technology used in classrooms, laboratories, and academic areas.

 System Monitoring — Monitor the performance and availability of relevant IT systems and escalate significant technical issues when specialist intervention is required.

 IT Documentation — Maintain clear records of technical issues, configurations, troubleshooting activities, equipment, maintenance work, and system changes.

Vendor & Service Coordination — Coordinate with external technology vendors and service providers when equipment repairs, technical services, installations, or specialized support are required.

Installation & Configuration —Assist with the setup and configuration of new computers, devices, applications, network equipment, and other technology resources.

Technical Guidance — Provide clear and practical guidance to users on common IT issues, system usage, security practices, and approved technology procedures.

Incident Resolution — Investigate recurring technical problems, identify possible causes, and implement practical solutions to reduce service interruptions.

IT Inventory Control — Regularly review IT equipment and inventory records to ensure devices are properly tracked, maintained, and available for operational needs.

Cross-Department Support — Work with academic, administrative, and support departments to understand technology requirements and provide appropriate technical assistance.

Continuous Improvement — Identify opportunities to improve IT processes, system reliability, user support, documentation, and the overall technology experience across the college.
