IT Application Support Specialist

Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Application Support Specialist to join our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will provide technical support for clinical and administrative applications while ensuring optimal system performance and user satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Provide first-level and second-level support for hospital information systems, including Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Hospital Management System (HMS), and other healthcare applications, ensuring minimal disruption to clinical operations and patient care delivery

Troubleshoot software issues, investigate root causes, and implement solutions while maintaining detailed documentation of all support activities and resolutions

Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers to resolve complex technical issues and coordinate system upgrades and maintenance activities

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field

Minimum 3 years of experience in IT application support, preferably in UAE healthcare sector

Strong knowledge of healthcare information systems and clinical applications

Experience with EMR/HMS systems and healthcare IT infrastructure

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail

Technical Skills

Proficiency in database management and SQL queries

Knowledge of HL7 interfaces and healthcare integration standards

Experience with Windows Server, networking, and IT security principles

Understanding of HIPAA or similar healthcare data privacy regulations

Strong knowledge of IT service management principles and ITIL framework

Soft Skills

Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are advantageous

Strong customer service orientation with ability to work effectively with clinical staff

Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Good documentation and reporting skills

Team player with ability to work independently when required

Work Environment

Full-time position based in UAE

Must be available for on-call support during critical situations

May require occasional weekend or evening work for system maintenance

Healthcare facility setting with exposure to clinical environments
