Role Title: Irrigation Technician

Role Type: Outsourced, full-time, on-site

Work Location: Academic City, Al Ain Road, Al Ruwayyah 2, Dubai, UAE

Contract Duration: 12 Months extendable

Timings: Sunday to Friday 8.00 AM to 5.00 PM with one hour lunch break

Role Purpose

To maintain irrigation networks, tanks, and pumping stations, ensuring optimal performance and functionality. The role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems to support the health and growth of landscapes.

Responsibilities

Reading and Understanding Drawings: Accurately interpret irrigation system layouts and plan the installation or repair work accordingly.

Installation:

Cut, assemble, and install pipes and drip tubes, ensuring the system fits seamlessly with the existing infrastructure, including electrical wiring.

Install water pumps and related equipment as per the design specifications.

Maintenance and Repair:

Diagnose and repair issues in drip lines and other components of the irrigation system.

Clean and maintain water storage tanks made of ZincAlum, GRP, and Plastic.

Regularly flush and clean irrigation lines to prevent blockages and maintain efficient water flow.

System Monitoring:

Collect and record flowmeter readings to monitor water usage and system efficiency.

Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues before they become major problems.

Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure the timely and effective completion of all tasks. Communicate any issues or needs for additional resources to supervisors.

Requirements

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a plumber, with specific experience in automatic irrigation systems.

Skills and Knowledge:

Strong understanding of automatic irrigation systems, including their design, installation, and maintenance.

Proficiency in handling plumbing tools and equipment, such as pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, and plungers.

Knowledge of water pump installation and maintenance.

Physical Requirements:

Good physical condition and strength, with the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Capability to perform tasks that require physical exertion, such as lifting, digging, and climbing.

Personal Attributes:

Attention to detail to ensure the accurate installation and repair of irrigation systems.

Problem-solving skills to diagnose and fix issues efficiently.

Good communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors effectively.
