Insurance Coordinator

Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Coordinator to join our healthcare team at Central Hospital, Sharjah. The ideal candidate will serve as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies while ensuring smooth processing of insurance claims and authorizations.

Key Responsibilities

Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility prior to medical services

Process and submit insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner

Obtain pre-authorizations and approvals for medical procedures and treatments

Follow up on pending insurance claims and resolve claim denials

Maintain accurate patient records and insurance documentation

Communicate effectively with patients regarding their insurance coverage, co-payments, and financial responsibilities

Coordinate with medical staff and insurance companies to ensure proper coding and documentation

Monitor and track claim status, payments, and outstanding balances

Assist in resolving billing discrepancies and patient complaints

Generate regular reports on insurance claims status and reconciliation

Required Qualifications

1-2 years of proven UAE healthcare insurance coordination experience (mandatory)

Thorough knowledge of UAE health insurance systems and procedures

Familiarity with medical terminology and coding

Experience with healthcare management software and MS Office applications

Strong understanding of insurance policies, procedures, and regulations

Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus)

Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field
