Job Description
Comprehensive Logistics Management: The Import and Export Specialist will spearhead the management of all import and export logistical activities within the UAE. This involves meticulous coordination of shipments across air, sea, and land, ensuring seamless operations and adherence to all regulatory requirements. The role demands a proactive approach to optimize processes, guaranteeing efficient transportation and strict compliance with documentation standards.
Expert Documentation Handling: A deep and thorough understanding of the documentation requirements for import and export into the UAE is paramount. This includes the precise handling of invoices, packing lists, delivery advice, certificates of origin, and MOFAIC attestations. The specialist must effectively coordinate with overseas agents for DAP and DDP shipments, ensuring pre-alerts are thoroughly checked, commercial documentation is compliant, and consignee preparedness is confirmed.
Efficient Delivery and Payment Coordination: The role necessitates the efficient coordination of delivery order collection from shipping lines and the facilitation of timely payment releases by liaising with the finance team. Proficiency in issuing Delivery Orders through the Dubai Trade Portal and DNATA Calogi portal (or manual processes) is crucial. Additionally, the specialist will be responsible for preparing necessary letters for shipping lines, DNATA, and airlines to facilitate smooth import and export processes.
HS Code and Regulatory Compliance: A critical aspect of this role is the accurate identification of HS codes and a comprehensive understanding of customs document requirements for imports and exports into free zones and the UAE mainland. Familiarity with GCC regulations, such as SASO and KUCAS, is highly desirable, ensuring all shipments comply with regional standards.
Effective Customer and Transport Coordination: Maintaining clear and effective communication with customers and transporters is essential for establishing and managing delivery plans that align with client expectations. This involves meticulous coordination of logistics to ensure timely and efficient delivery, while maintaining consistent communication throughout the process.
Proactive Issue Resolution: The specialist must possess the ability to proactively resolve issues related to cargo short landing, pilferage, container shutouts, roll-overs, container damage, demurrage, and other unexpected1 disruptions and cost escalations in sea and air shipments. This requires quick thinking and effective problem-solving skills to minimize delays and costs.
