Housekeeping Assistant Manager

Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Housekeeping Assistant Manager to join our hotel operations team. The ideal candidate will assist in managing daily housekeeping operations while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Executive Housekeeper in managing daily operations of the housekeeping department

Supervise, train, and mentor housekeeping staff to ensure excellence in service delivery

Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas

Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders when necessary

Create and manage staff schedules to ensure optimal coverage

Handle guest complaints and special requests professionally and efficiently

Implement and maintain standard operating procedures

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

Coordinate with other departments (Front Office, Maintenance, F&B) to enhance guest experience

Manage deep cleaning projects and preventive maintenance schedules

Monitor and control department expenses within budget

Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions

Maintain accurate records of room status, maintenance issues, and inventory

Required Qualifications

Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar position at international hotel chains

Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations and cleaning protocols

Experience in staff supervision and training

Excellent understanding of hotel safety and security procedures

Proficiency in hotel management software

Strong command of English (written and verbal)

Preferred Qualifications

Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management

Additional language skills (Arabic preferred)

Experience in 4 or 5-star properties

Knowledge of UAE hospitality standards

IEHA or similar professional certifications

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities

Professional communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Physical stamina for regular property walks and inspections

Computer literacy with MS Office applications

Working Hours

Full-time position with rotating shifts

Must be flexible to work on weekends and holidays

On-call availability for emergency situations
