Job Description

Role Overview – Vernus International School is hiring a Homeroom Teacher for a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, UAE. This position is ideal for qualified, passionate educators with strong teaching expertise, classroom management skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality education, fostering student development, and creating engaging learning experiences within an international school environment.

Teaching and Curriculum Delivery – You will deliver high-quality teaching and curriculum instruction by planning and delivering engaging lessons, implementing the school's curriculum framework, differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs, utilizing innovative teaching methodologies, and ensuring all students achieve academic progress and learning objectives.

Classroom Management and Learning Environment – You will manage classroom environment and student behavior by establishing clear expectations, implementing positive behavior management strategies, creating inclusive, safe, and stimulating learning spaces, maintaining classroom discipline, and fostering a respectful, supportive atmosphere that promotes learning and personal growth.

Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring – You will assess student learning and monitor progress by designing formative and summative assessments, tracking student achievement, analyzing assessment data, providing constructive feedback, identifying learning gaps, and implementing interventions to support student success.

Lesson Planning and Preparation – You will plan and prepare lessons by developing detailed lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, selecting appropriate resources and materials, designing differentiated activities, incorporating technology and hands-on learning, and ensuring lessons are engaging, rigorous, and aligned with learning objectives.

Pastoral Care and Student Well-Being – You will provide pastoral care and support student well-being by serving as the primary point of contact for your homeroom class, monitoring student welfare, addressing social-emotional needs, building positive relationships with students, and creating a nurturing environment that supports holistic student development.

Parent Communication and Engagement – You will communicate and engage with parents by providing regular updates on student progress, conducting parent-teacher conferences, responding to parent inquiries, sharing student achievements and concerns, and fostering collaborative partnerships between home and school.

Record Keeping and Documentation – You will maintain accurate record keeping and documentation by tracking attendance, recording grades and assessments, documenting student behavior and incidents, maintaining student portfolios, and ensuring all records are complete, organized, and accessible for reporting and compliance purposes.

Collaboration and Team Work – You will collaborate with colleagues by participating in grade-level meetings, coordinating with subject teachers, sharing best practices, contributing to curriculum development, supporting school-wide initiatives, and working as part of a cohesive teaching team.

Professional Development and Growth – You will engage in professional development by attending training workshops, participating in professional learning communities, staying current with educational research and best practices, reflecting on teaching practice, and continuously improving instructional skills and pedagogical knowledge.

Extracurricular and School Activities – You will support extracurricular and school activities by supervising students during breaks and school events, contributing to clubs or sports programs, participating in school celebrations and special events, and engaging in the broader school community.
