Healthcare Accountant

Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accountant with specific expertise in UAE healthcare accounting to join our growing medical center. The ideal candidate will manage all financial operations while ensuring compliance with healthcare-specific regulations and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

Manage complete accounting cycle for the medical centre

Process medical insurance claims and follow up on receivables

Handle accounts payable and receivable for medical services

Maintain accurate financial records of patient transactions

Reconcile insurance company payments and adjustments

Process payroll for medical and administrative staff

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

Manage cash flow and banking relationships

Monitor and record all medical inventory purchases

Handle supplier payments and maintain vendor relationships

Ensure compliance with UAE healthcare financial regulations

Prepare financial analysis reports for management

Assist with budgeting and forecasting

Monitor and report on key financial metrics

Coordinate with external auditors

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in UAE healthcare sector

Strong knowledge of UAE healthcare insurance systems

Proficiency in medical billing and coding

Experience with healthcare accounting software

Knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and compliance

Excellent understanding of healthcare revenue cycle management

Technical Skills

Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software

Experience with medical practice management systems

Knowledge of ICD coding and medical terminology

Familiarity with UAE healthcare insurance procedures

Understanding of electronic medical billing systems

Professional Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Good communication skills in English

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Strong organizational and time management skills

Professional ethics and confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications

Professional accounting certification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent)

Arabic language skills

Experience with multiple insurance providers in UAE

Knowledge of healthcare-specific accounting standards

Familiarity with medical facility operations

Work Environment

Full-time position based at Life Medical Centre

Professional medical facility environment

Regular business hours with occasional extended hours during month-end closing
